31 new researchers selected for the project on infectious diseases and human rights

Facts and Norms' first call for applications was responded by 132 candidates — a diverse group of early and mid-career academics, experienced researchers with awarded Ph.D. degrees, lecturers and professors, practitioners, public officials and other professionals (nationals and residents of 47 different countries).


The Recruiting Committee has now reached a final result.


The recruitment process followed three main criteria: (1) experience and background; (2) motivation; (3) diversity. Upon careful review, the Committee is glad to announce the selected researchers:

Ramos, from the Philippines; Daniela Constantin, from Romania; Diana Haladey, from the United States of America; Emily Williams, from Canada; Fatjeta Ibishi, from Kosovo; Foivos Stathas, from Greece; Genaro Alpin, from Suriname; Ghassem Ghassemi, from Iran; Hope Joyce Okelo, from Kenya; Iradukunda Juscaelle, from Burundi; Karen Martins Carvalho de Aguilar, from Brazil; Luna Tainara dos Santos Corrêa, from Brazil; Mariana Castro Ortega, from Colombia; Maria Júlia de Magalhães Abreu Nascimento, from Brazil; Mosabbir Hossain, from Bangladesh; Michelle Keun-Rasmussen, from Denmark; Navjeet Kaur, from Australia; Nem Jean-Baptiste, from Haiti; Priya Ahsan Chowdhury, from Bangladesh; Raj Shekhar, from India; Saif Rasul Khan, from India; Suzanne Scott, from Ireland; Taiia Avram, from Ukraine; Teona Gelashvili, from Georgia; and Veronika Lakhno, from Russia.

Selected researchers are joined by assistant coordinator and fellow researcher Giuliana Alves de Rezende in a multinational task force under the guidance of Senior Research Fellow Adriano Koslides Mitre and the Institute's Coordinator, Professor Henrique Napoleão Alves.


The Institute welcomes the new researchers and congratulates them for being selected among many excellent applications.
